With great reluctance, I have decided to start censoring certain kinds of comments. As of 10/31/06, I will delete comments that mention real people's names in a derogatory way. In addition, I will probably delete rude and/or inane comments that do not contribute to a thoughtful discussion.
Yes, this requires a judgment call on my part which is why I never wanted to resort to this.
If you want a comment from the past deleted, and that comment mentions you by name, please send email to mvillecitizen@yahoo.com and I'll delete it after confirming your identity. Please don't make this request on behalf of others without their direct request.
Okay! Back to the best of the Merchantville blog: helpful sharing of information, mature conversation, and open-minded opinion exchange.

Great policy change.
Thanks, citizen. It's your blog and you have the right to exercise your own judgement on the posts.
Your policy is no more restrictive than other blogs I contribute to.
other bolgs you contribute to?? do you ever work??
Thanks for the time you put into the Blog.
A neighbor brought over a flyer put out by the democratic candidates, and it kept refering to this blog (I assume this one) as my blog... I guess this spot is as good as any to point out this isn't my blog. In fact, I'm not often here (and when I am, I usually post, so you can tell by my posts which days I was here -I always sign in with Monica or MonicaS). Just wanted to clear that up, and thanks to the real blogmaster for enabling the town to have this forum.

Just came upon your blog. I love my town as well, but think you should mention the fact that the police here ticket its towns own citizens unmercifully. Many people complain about this. Just received a summons for a ticket I never received on a car with a parking permit with an additional $10 penalty. $35 to park in front of my own house but the town can have car shows and other events that block the front of my home which prevents me from coming and going. Amazing!!
We feel the same as Jay-the parking permits are a joke-originally we thought the purpose was to target overnight cars to prevent crime-but we have had cars parked by our house overnight without permits-NO tickets- our cars have been ticketed many times. They should do away with them-
