The unnamed reporter wrote in four paragraphs what could have been reported in a sentence, that a municipal court conviction of driving while intoxicated was settled out of court when the individual appealed to the NJ Superior Court on grounds of improbable cause for stopping the car.

So?

Want some bigger news? Tomorrow at 1 pm the West End Revitalization Task Force will be meeting in air conditioned Borough Hall to discuss a vision for the area. The group is closing in on recommendations.

At its planning meeting yesterday the West End Revitalization Task Force continued formulating improvement recommendations.

Merchantville residents might be interested in learning that Sprint expressed willingness to consider making landscape improvements to its facility on Maple Avenue. The Task Force has been asked to present its recommendations.

Disappointing news is from the owner of Bebirian & Temoyan. He echoed other property owners’ sentiment that it is costly to stay in Merchantville, due to the taxes and utilities. He may be leaving Merchantville soon.

The Task Force will be hosting a second public workshop for soliciting community feedback. The tentative date is Tuesday, September 27, 2011.

Some, actually one in particular, of Merchantville's policemen lack honesty, integrity, class or good morals. This combination, along with boredom (let's face it, M-ville isn't a high crime town), could have led to this $11K decision. Guess we're paying for it in our ever-growing taxes, right? :)
